Time Square at the Chair

Plan now to come to TIME SQUARE AT THE CHAIR in downtown Thomasville on New Year's Eve! Food/Game vendors, Live bands, RAISING THE CROSS AT MIDNIGHT! (This is going to be awesome.....it will have 1900 lights on it!) DETAILS below description of bands.

Churches in the Thomasville area have joined efforts to plan a spectecular New Year's Eve event! "Time Square" will draw families, singles, youth, seniors....there will be something there everyone will enjoy!

Downtown square will be closed off for a spirited festival of live music, food and game booths and then a ceremonial cross-raising at midnight.

Thousands of participants are expected to usher in 2010 with live music by Unified Cry Youth Band, Sheltered Quartet, Canaanland Praise and Worship Group, Wet Cement Drama Team, and Never the Same....all local groups.

Churches and nonprofit organizations will have food and game booths raising funds for their organization or outreach ministries. Among our choices will be hot dogs, BBQ, hamburgers, chili, soup, baked goods, coffee and hot chocolate. Monkeez Brew will be open throughout the event as well.

For the Grande Finale, rather than bringing the apple down, we will be raising the cross toward the sky at midnight. The cross has been hand made by Terry Lamb of Lamb's Realty. He has carefully placed 1900 lights on the cross which will be raised by a crane donated by Grand Central Rentals in Greensboro.

Momentum and enthusiasm have exploded for Time Square at the Chair as more and more churches have come together in prayer and unity the city of Thomasville. What happens when a city starts the New Year with God at the center? Only 2010 will tell.
